The Promise
Electronic Ambient · Before the Fall
Electronic ambient music born from the very heart of those mornings when the engines, the techno-optimist promises and the 'inevitable' march of modern 'progress' all seemed to converge on a single bright horizon. Something, back then, seemed to hold: the idea that if we only looked up high enough, we would eventually find an answer. Before the rage. Before the grief. Just the naivety of having believed.
This piece lives in that moment just before the fall. The quiet warmth of hope, sincere and defenceless, when the future still looked like a promised land and no one thought to turn around. And yet, at our feet, the dew was already beading on the grass and the dawn chorus was rising into the morning; we simply weren't listening yet. The whole wound of this trilogy is held there, in that gaze turned skyward while the living world breathed on at ground level.
For those who remember believing, and who do not quite hold it against themselves. For that suspended moment when the illusion still carried the softness of a promise.
The first part of Looking Up, three tracks from one wound, heard together or alone.
